An introduction to PSA Authenticated Debug Access Control
Access control to debug ports is an important security feature that is
applicable in many fields such as micro-controllers, automotive systems or
complex SoCs. In the past, the adoption of what is commonly referred to as
""secure debug"" has been hampered by lack of standardization. With the
increasing demand of sophisticated security management in modern applications,
the need for a debug authentication technology that is scalable across
different devices and supported by the tool ecosystem is stronger than ever.
To address this challenge, in the last two years Arm has been working with multiple partners to create the PSA Authenticated Debug Access Control (PSA ADAC) standard. This presentation will cover:
- an overview of the PSA ADAC (architecture, features, use cases)
- the current status of ecosystem enablement activities
- and what will soon be available to software developers.
