This presentation outlines Red Hat’s commitment to and participation within SOAFEE, along with examples of the process to make the Automotive Stream Distribution (AutoSD) within CentOS work with SOAFEE and the EWAOL reference platform.

Arm launched the SOAFEE initiative to provide a fully open Arm reference platform for the automotive industry. At about the same time, Red Hat launched a automotive special interest group within CentOS, and has produced AutoSD as a public upstream for the forthcoming Red Hat In-Vehicle Operating System.

As a founding member of SOAFEE and a longtime supporter of open software standards, Red Hat sees the transformative value of initiatives like SOAFEE, and is happy to participate with other members to bring the automotive industry into the modern era as it moves from deeply embedded development methods toward a continuously integrated, cloud-native paradigm based on open source.
