Let’s explore how to connect the Raspberry Pi to a wireless network.
Follow these steps to connect to a wireless network:
- Start the console-based Raspberry Pi configuration tool:
$ sudo raspi-config
- Use option 2 to select Network Options, then option 2 again to select Wi-Fi. Enter the SSID and key, if needed, as you can see in this screenshot:

If the Raspbian desktop is running, enable the
sshserver using the configuration Preferences -> Raspberry Pi. Click the Interfaces tab.
- Change the password to something other than the default value. The use of
sudois automatically enabled for user
passwdon the command line and click Enter. You will be prompted to enter the current password and then asked for a new password. The new password will be requested a second time to confirm.
