The ARM architecture defines the following big-endian modes:


Byte Invariant Addressing mode (ARMv6 and later).


Legacy big-endian mode.

The selection of BE8 versus BE32 is specified at link time.


The compiler assumes --littleend unless --bigend is explicitly specified.
