What information to provide

Please follow these guidelines when submitting a support query:

  1. Make your question as clear and comprehensive as possible.

  2. State the Arm product name(s) and revision(s). Include version information for any tools you are using.

    Arm tools provide version information with the --version option, for example:

    For Arm Code Advisor:

    $ armcadvisor --version
    0.1.0-201610100000

    For Arm C/C++ Compiler

    $ armclang --version
    ARM clang version 1.3 (build number 32) (based on LLVM 5.0.0svn)
    Target: aarch64--linux-gnu
    Thread model: posix
    InstalledDir: /arm-hpc-compiler-1.3_Generic-AArch64_SUSE-12_aarch64-linux/bin

    For Arm Fortran Compiler

    $ armflang --version
    ARM clang version 1.3 (build number 32) (based on LLVM 5.0.0svn)
    Target: aarch64--linux-gnu
    Thread model: posix
    InstalledDir: /arm-hpc-compiler-1.3_Generic-AArch64_SUSE-12_aarch64-linux/bin
  3. Include any relevant log files.

    By default, Arm Code Advisor logs errors and warnings (level 1) to stderr. Use the --log-file option to redirect log output to a file. Use the --log-level option to set the log level to: 0 (Errors only), 1 (level 0 plus warnings), 2 (level 1 plus informational messages), or 3 (level 2 plus debug messages).

    For example:

    armcadvisor analyze --log-level 3 --log-file mylogfile

    For more information about obtaining diagnostic information from Arm Instruction Emulator, see Running SVE code with Arm Instruction Emulator.

  4. Include any relevant environment details.

Support conversations may include requests for additional information. Please be responsive to these requests should they arise.
