Azul Systems

Azul Systems is the world’s only company exclusively focused on Java and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Founded in 2002, Azul Systems are a private company headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with worldwide offices and support centers.

Azul Systems serves engineering and development teams who build and deliver Java-based systems for embedded and IoT use cases. They provide the Java ‘glue’ between embedded or enterprise application software and the underlying operating system. Developers can build and test their Java applications on Macs, PCs or Linux desktops, then deploy on Arm processors supporting use cases ranging from embedded devices and IoT gateways to enterprise servers. Zulu Enterprise® and Zulu Embedded® support the same Java versions, patches, and security levels regardless of the underlying platform.

By working with Azul, you also gain the freedom and flexibility of open source Java coupled with flexible cost-effective support plans. No field of use restrictions, no licensing hassles and no proprietary software – just tested, certified builds of OpenJDK.

Azul also builds Zing®, an advanced Java runtime for server applications spanning a wide range of workloads, including retail e-commerce, customer portals, search and messaging infrastructure, Big Data, and many other use cases.

Azul Systems Java products include:

  • Zulu Embedded - 100% open source, certified, tested, custom builds of OpenJDK for embedded applications, with support for 32 and 64-bit Arm, Intel and PowerPC processors.
  • Zulu® and Zulu Enterprise - 100% open source, certified and tested builds of OpenJDK for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
  • Zing - an advanced Java runtime (JVM) for server-based Java workloads.
