DS-5 Intel SoC FPGA Edition

Getting Started

The DS-5 Intel SoC FPGA Edition enables FPGA-adaptive debugging on Intel SoC FPGA devices. (what’s in the package?). Designed for both firmware and application software developers, the DS-5 Intel SoC FPGA Edition can be used over the USB-Blaster II, the Arm DSTREAM, or Ethernet connection. This toolkit is available for purchase from Intel  as part of the SoC EDS.

Follow these three simple steps to get up and running:

1. Download and Install

Download the Intel SoC FPGA EDS Standard Edition from the Intel website.

After downloading Intel SoC FPGA EDS run Setup.exe, then follow the simple on-screen installation instructions.

Note During installation you might be prompted to install device drivers. These drivers are to allow USB connections to DSTREAM, DSTREAM-ST, RVI, ULINKpro, ULINKpro D and Energy Probe hardware units. It is recommended to install these drivers if you intend to use these features.

After downloading Intel SoC FPGA EDS run Setup.run, then follow the simple on-screen installation instructions.

It is recommended you delete any previous release of DS-5 before installing a new release; the installer guides you through this process. Alternatively, you can install it into a different directory.

Note The installer includes device drivers that require you to run with root privileges.
