CentOS is a Linux distribution built as a community project with an active ecosystem for server and enterprise. CentOS maintains binary compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and is available on Armv8 platforms.
Stable Linux distribution
The CentOS Linux distribution is derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). It is available on all major architectures including Arm and relies on platforms complying to standards such as Server Base System Architecture (SBSA) and Server Base Boot Requirements (SBBR) on Arm. Developers can join the community and discuss issues on respective project mailing lists and forums.
CentOS Stream is a rolling-release Linux distribution positioned between the upstream development in Fedora Linux and the downstream development for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). It provides a path to contributing into future minor releases of RHEL while interacting with Red Hat and other open source developers.
Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are groups within the CentOS community that work on small sets of issues including Arm. The initial support for Armv8 for CentOS started as a SIG. Each SIG can ask for a dedicated section on the CentOS wiki to track information and progress.
